Sky Garden is a must-see while in London. Situated at the top of a 38 story building, the views are incredible, especially at sunset. It also features an indoor garden, which makes for an amazing photo backdrop.
The venue technically has two restaurants inside of it, Fenchurch and Darwin Brasserie, as well as a bar. Fenchurch is better for the evenings, boasting contemporary British cuisine and an award-winning wine list. Darwin Brasserie is open all day and has special weekend brunch menus.
2. The Rock, Zanzibar
How wouldn't want to dine in the middle of tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean? Located in Zanzibar, an island off the coast of Tanzania, this restaurant sits on a rock just off the shore of a beach.
Beyond the amazing views, this restaurant boasts seafood caught fresh from the surrounding ocean. The best time to go is during the day so you can enjoy the swirling blues of the ocean and maybe even tan on the beach with a post-meal drink afterward.
3. Grotta Palazzese, Italy
Grotta Palazzese is the perfect romantic dinner location. Its atmosphere is unbeatable, situated inside a natural cave with a terrace that overlooks the Adriatic Sea. In the evening, it is lit up with candles which glint off the water and into the cave walls making a truly dreamy experience.

5. R Lounge, New York City
There aren't many places where you can watch Time Square light up on New Year’s Eve, but R Lounge is one of them. Located inside a Marriott hotel, this lounge boasts cocktails, food, and unbeatable views of New York City.
If cocktails aren't your thing, don't worry, R Lounge also has a breakfast buffet where you can watch the city that never sleeps while eating a classic American breakfast. Don't risk not getting a window seat though, book ahead and request one so you are guaranteed the best views of the city.
6. Vampire Cafe, Tokyo
Who doesn't love a themed restaurant every now and then? Vampire Cafe has everything spooky, from decorations of skulls and ghosts to food lit on fire while they serve it to you. This creepy cafe would be perfect for Halloween!
You might decide to come here for the decorations, but you can stay for the food. Their menu is primarily European, and all their food sticks with the theme. From ice cream served in a chocolate coffin to crackers in the shape of crosses.
7. Ion Adventure Hotel, Iceland
Ion Adventure Hotel has it all. Set against mountains, near lava fields and glaciers, and under the Northern Lights, it is perfect for seeing the best of nature. This restaurant is famous for its bar, which, thanks to its glass walls, gives incredible views of the Northern Lights.
If you make it to this restaurant might as well enjoy the rest of the amenities the hotel has to offer -- a Lava Spa, day trips into the surrounding countryside, and a thermal suite to spend the night in.
8. The Snowcastle Of Kemi, Finland
While we're on the topic of countries hidden in the far north of Europe, it would be a shame to ignore The Snowcastle Of Kemi. This restaurant takes it to name literally as it is the biggest snow fort in the world.
Rebuilt every winter, this restaurant gives you the one in a lifetime opportunity to dine in a restaurant made out of ice -- from the tables to the ceilings, everything is sculpted out of pure ice and snow. Thankfully there are reindeer fur seats, but we recommend you order a warm drink to stay safe!
9. Aiguille Du Midi Restaurant, France
If heights are your thing, then this restaurant in France is for you. Situated at the top of a mountain at a staggering 3842 meters, this restaurant requires a cable car ride to get to. The views make the altitude worthwhile, with snow capped peaks visible out the windows of the dining room.
The menu is classically French, with options for escargot, steaks, and panna cotta for dessert. The altitude can be a bit off-putting for some people, so you might want to bring some medication if you are prone to getting light-headed.
10. Dog Cafe, Los Angeles
You might have heard of cat cafes, but what about dog cafes? In Los Angeles, California, you can grab a cup of coffee while playing with adorable rescue dogs. You can even adopt one of the dogs as all of the dogs are up for adoption!

11. Culiair, Netherlands
This restaurant is unlike anything else in the world; in fact, it's the only restaurant in the world where you can eat in a hot air balloon. You, and your private chef, hop in the air balloon and enjoy dinner overlooking the Dutch countryside from the sky.
The food is prepared live in front of the diners, with the balloon's heat acting as an oven to heat all the dishes. The meal is certainly not for the faint of heart, but if adventure is your thing, then this can't be missed.
12. Nekobiyaka, Japan
Cat cafes are nothing new, but this cat cafe in Japan hosts only black cats! Don't worry; they all have different colored collars to help you tell them apart. The cats are lively and friendly, ready to be pet while you enjoy some iced coffee in the well-decorated cafe.
The cafe has toys and brushes for you to choose from to play with the cats and magazines if you need a break away from all the feline fun. If you're a black cat lover, then Nekobiyaka is the place for you.
13. Giraffe Manor, Nairobi
This list wouldn't be complete without the iconic Giraffe Manor in Kenya. While more technically a hotel than a restaurant, this might be the only place in the world where a giraffe might steal the food off your plate.
Book a night in their luxurious rooms and wake yourself up with coffee and a visit from one of the many giraffes who live on the property. If the hotel is out of your budget, there is also a day center where you can feed the giraffes too.
14. Alchemist, Copenhagen
This restaurant doesn't just give you food, but a full culinary experience. Located in an auditorium sealed off from the natural world, eating here takes you a minimum of 5 hours. Courses are themed, with experiences like being in New York city or being in an aquarium.
Just like the atmosphere, the food is experimental and cutting edge, like lamb brain or chicken feet whether you go for the food or the theater-like experience this restaurant needs to be on your list.
15. Leo's Oyster Bar, San Francisco
This restaurant is perfect for an Instagram feed. Its decoration is inspired by the 1960s with funky wallpaper, vintage furniture, and even a tiki bar. The eclectic mix somehow all fits together to create a unique aesthetic perfect for photos on your feed.
If you go for the atmosphere, you'll stay for the food. It is, after all an Oyster Bar that boasts not only oysters but other seafood classics like lobster rolls and shrimp. If you're in San Francisco, this needs to be on your list.

18. La Tante DC10 Restaurant, Ghana
There aren't many people who can say they have had a world-class meal in an airplane...on the ground. This restaurant in Ghana is built into a previously operational passenger jet and now is grounded in a mall in Accra.
The food Ghanaian with dishes like banks, a type of maize porridge, and fish stews. Avoid the expensive plane ticket and mediocre food associate with flying, and try this airplane on the ground instead.
19. Fangweng Restaurant, China
Fangweng Restaurant in China is literally carved into the side of a cliff. To get to it you have to scale the cliff, thankfully along a railed pathway, but once you get to the top, the view is worth it.
The actual restaurant itself is further inside the cliff-face, in a cave, giving it a romantic and intimate quality. And the food served is a traditional food that's locally found in the province the restaurant is located in.
20. White Rabbit, Moscow
The White Rabbit in Moscow is world-renowned for its chef, Vladimir Mukhin. He takes traditional Russian ingredients and elevates them to beautiful, inspiring, and delicious plates. His dishes alone are worthy of an Instagram post.
The world-class food isn't the only thing this restaurant has going for it. It is also a rooftop restaurant with panoramic angles of Moscow. The restaurant also has subtle hints and decor inspired by Alice and Wonderland, which makes dining there a magical experience.

22. The Roadside Diner, New Jersey
This list would not be complete without a classic diner on it. The Roadside Diner in New Jersey is a classic diner, with colorful booths and bar seats to enjoy a milkshake at. Make sure you plan to come for breakfast so you can try their famous blueberry pancakes.

24. Gilbert Scott, London
St Pancras is a railway station in central London that has a hotel built on one side of it. The hotel is ostentatious, with gold interiors, deep red cushions, and grand pianos. This is a place to dine if you want to feel fancy for the evening!
The food is British but elevated to match the almost royal surroundings. The chef, Marcus Wareing, is well known for his high-end, British restaurants, and Gilbert Scott is just one of them. So if you're a fan, make sure to check out his other locations.
25. Opaque, Los Angeles
It's hard to be original these days, but Opaque certainly did something no one else in the restaurant industry had done before -- dining in the dark! This chain of restaurants in the US offers culinary experiences completely in the dark.
No flashlights or even phones are allowed while in the dining room; you are entirely at the mercy of your waiters to help guide you. Thankfully they wear night-vision goggles, which help them get the food to your plate, not in your lap.
26. Dinner in the Sky, Brussels
Dinner in the Sky is right behind Opaque with getting creative about the dining experience, except this one involves being dangled from a crane! Diner in the Sky restaurants, which have spread from Europe to Asia, use cranes to lift a panel on which all the diners sit.
Eating in these restaurants will undoubtedly offer you a unique dining experience. You can also pair it with 'Marriage in the Sky' if being suspended above a city is your type of thing.
27. CafeX, San Francisco
If you like the food at this restaurant, make sure to thank the chef, which might be difficult considering all the food is cooked by robots! A San Francisco start-up which was initially a coffee stand, now custom cooks its meals using cutting edge robotic technology.
The coffee shop and restaurant is just the beginning for CafeX! The company plans to continue to expand to more restaurants and even vending machines. Regardless, this is a meal experience you can't get anywhere else in the world.
28. Chez Jerome, Ecuador
You might not expect to get French food while in Ecuador, but Chez Jerome is the place to go for the best French food around. The restaurant reinvents dishes and takes them to new levels with experimental gastronomy.
This restaurant might not be for the picky eaters, but the creative menu is perfect for you for the foodies out there. Make sure to take pictures of the beautifully plated food for your feed before you get too caught up in how delicious it is!
29. Friends Cafe, Beijing
Everyone who's ever seen the sitcom classic Friends has dreamed of sitting and getting a cup of coffee in the cafe Central Perk. Thankfully there is a restaurant where you can do this! 35. El Diablo, Spain
This restaurant isn't for the faint of heart--the name itself translates to 'the devil" in Spanish. Located on top of an active volcano, all the food here is cooked over vents that come straight up from the volcano.
